Christmas is a good time to release a movie for children because both the kids and parents are off work. And Toonpur ka Superhero aims to plug the benefits of the season. Relatively higher budgeted than the regular children's movies that are made in India, it also has an appealing storyline apart from the fact that it is the first Indian live action animation.

Ajay Devgan is back to action movies with this flick. Aditya (Ajay Devgan) is a reel life hero. He accidentally lands into Toonpur, the land of cartons where he eventually transforms into a real life hero. Toonpur is divided into two groups, Devtoons and Toonasurs. Devtoons are the good guys of Toonpur while Toonasurs are the bad guys. Both the groups are at constant war with each other. With the entry of super action hero, Aditya, Devtoons decide to seek his help and take him to Toonpur. But things do not turn out as simple for Devtoons as they had thought. Toonasurs have something big in hand.

Talking about the characters, Ajay delivers a challenging yet convincing performance, while child artist Amey is highly appreciable. Kajol appears in a short yet admiring role. But, it’s the animated characters that steal the show. Hats off to the director  for creating the lively characters. A real star, indeed! On the whole, ‘Toonpur Ka Superhero’ perfectly blends amazing animation with old-fashioned values and presents a full-fledged family entertainer. Though the movie may not truly delight the adults, it makes a sure-shot kiddie treat. Sit back and admire your Bollywood’s entry into animation, a new territory yet to be discovered!
